We are proud to contribute to the new initiative, Street League Lelystad! Together with an amazing group of partners, we support this fantastic football league for upper elementary school children. We built the website and technical solutions as part of our sponsorship. Winning matches earns you points, but in Street League Lelystad, that’s not enough to become a champion. You will receive even more points for fair play, making community contributions and participating in events and workshops!

Children helping the community
Street League Lelystad includes various (sports) activities for upper elementary school children. Participation and positive engagement during these activities are rewarded with points, which allow you to climb up the competition leaderboard.
At Street League Lelystad, it’s not just about winning on the field, but also about fair play and commitment beyond the games! For this wonderful initiative, a new website with technical solutions was needed for registration, team assignment, report submissions, and point tracking.
From idea to reality
Through the excitement of competition, teamwork, participation, and scoring points, children learn to work together toward a better, more beautiful world while having fun. It’s a wonderful idea, but what exactly were the requirements for the website?
The Challenge
Street League had a range of requirements. In addition to a user-friendly CMS, there was a need for a comprehensive form builder, an events calendar, and a news archive. The biggest challenge, however, would be the underlying system. This system needed to automate as much as possible of the process involving all participants. These participants must be organized into teams within groups by location. Then, the children can propose activity ideas. These ideas are either approved or rejected, and they can earn points for submitted reports.
Points can be earned by winning a match, but also for showing good behavior: Were they on time? Did they offer drinks to the team? Additional points can be earned through community activities. All this must be processed neatly in an overview of the program, standings, and match results.

The Result
Our team worked hard on the new Street League Lelystad website. For our developer, this project was not only an opportunity to create something beautiful but also a significant technical challenge. Organizing teams, setting up the match schedule, and managing data required smart solutions and precision. We automated as much as possible for the client.
We used WordPress with the GravityForms form builder, adding further backend extensions in PHP to ensure the point system functions smoothly on both the front and back ends. The system sends many automated emails to the appropriate person when something is approved or rejected, or when new points are added. The full program can also be generated automatically into groups!
What made this project particularly special for our developer was that it involved football—a sport that brings people together and one that many on our team enjoy. This added extra motivation to meet our client’s needs and deliver a result that is both functional and inspiring.
We’re delighted to be part of this project and wish the participants lots of fun!
